The Project for the construction of the Wastewater Treatment Plant of Brus and Blace is being implemented by the Ministry for European Integration, and the aim of the first in a series of meetings is to find the optimal way of cooperation between the city of Kruševac and these local governments regarding how the future Regional Plant will be maintained.

"Brus and Blace Projects have been lasting for a long time and we hope that we have reached one final stage, the announcement of tenders is expected. The task of the experts from the PPF6-PROGRAMME  is to ensure the sustainability of the Project, which means to ensure the participation of the city of Kruševac in co-financing and operating of  these facilities to make them sustainable. This Project also aims to establish a regional wastewater management system. The value of these Projects is about € 11 million and includes the construction of a new sewerage network, the reconstruction of the existing sewage system, as well as the storm sewage system and the construction of Wastewater Treatment Plants in Brus and Blace. The funds are provided by a European Union Grant, as the Project is being implemented through an IPA programme.

The meeting was opened by Mr Senad Pločo, the Head of the Consulting Team on the implementation of the so-called EU PPF Project funded by the European Union in the Republic of Serbia. A clear vision determines the process of this Project regarding the agreement between the city of Kruševac and the Municipalities of Brus and Blace, how the mentioned facilities will be maintained after the construction.

"This is an exceptional opportunity because both Kruševac , Brus and Blace are interested in the realization of this Project. It is of the utmost importance for Kruševac to prevent the large intake of wastewater into Lake Ćelije, since the lake is the main source of water supply for the city of Kruševac. This is the first meeting where we should determine what would be the optimal way of cooperation between the city of Kruševac, the municipalities of Brus and Blace, so that the Project would be adequately completed”,  said Mr Senad Pločo.

At the Working Meeting at the premises of the Rasina Administrative District, the proposals were presented by representatives of the Ministry of European Integration, the Ministry of Environment Protection, the Directorate for Water, the Management of the Rasina District, the City of Kruševac and the Municipalities of Brus and Blace, as well as the directors of Public Companies. In behalf of PUC "Vodovod-Kruševac" the meeting was attended by the director of the Company Mr Vladimir Milosavljević and his associates.
